Duke Nukem Online STILL Needs BETA Testers!

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, It's me, Mike (mik3ca), the CREATOR of DUKE NUKEM ONLINE.

The testings and production WILL BE DELAYED :(.

I have received some feedback from at least 6 duke nukem users from various sources, and many have told me that they do not like to pay for the games. I also had a couple of people that are willing to pay to play.

This means that I will need OPINIONS from users before I continue. I will make it so that people can play duke nukem over the network for FREE with some limitations. Those that pay will be able to play without the limitations.

I plan to apply one or more of the following limitations when players play on the network for free:

  • Deliberate Game freeze-up after a set period of time. (maybe 5 minutes).
  • Limit maximum players per game to 2 or 3.
  • Assign a random player (pant) colour instead of having the user determine it.
  • Use system generated names for player names in the game.
  • Create longer wait times.

    • Please help by stating which of the above limitations you would like to deal with when you play for free, or come up with one and let me know about it. Once I get enough answers on a common limitation, then I will continue with the site, and make it user friendly for everyone.

    No limitations apply to users who pay for the game.



    To become a beta tester, you must:

  • Be a hard-core Duke Nukem 3D fan (or at least try to be one)
  • Be able to provide detailled feedback (in english please)
  • Get a hold of at least 7 other friends who are willing to play

    • Basically, what you are doing is testing the entire site inside-out. you will make sure every section works as intended. you will also test the game in every mode that the game supports. For example, you will need to go from testing a 2-player game in Co-op mode to testing an 8-player game in death match mode.

    You will also provide detailled feedback, at least on every problem. This means you need to tell me what EXACTLY was shown on your screen, what steps you have taken to make that problem occur, and if you can reproduce the problem.

    The 7 friends you choose can also apply to become beta testers if they like.

    Because I'm such a NICE guy, I am willing to provide a reward for your work. You will be given FREE GAME CREDITS! this means while you are testing the game, you are using DUKE NUKEM ONLINE for FREE! When I no longer need the beta testers, they will be given additional FREE GAME CREDITS as my appreciation for their support. If I qualify you, and you help out, and if you would like, I will create a CREDITS page, and add you under the BETA TESTERS section unless you specify otherwise.
